Olivia Lee
During the 2022 Washington Youth Tour, S.C. delegates chose Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative representative Olivia Lee to be South Carolina's Youth Leadership Council representative.
Lee and delegates from other states will spend the year working on their leadership skills though educational classes presented by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). She will also attend the annual meeting of the NRECA March 3-8, 2023, in Nashville, TN.
In June of 2022, Lee and dozens of delegates from South Carolina's electric cooperatives, traveled to Washington, D.C. for a week. The students met with their elected representatives at the Capitol, toured monuments and museums and met students from across the country.
Students are chosen for the Washington Youth Tour during their junior year of high school. Contact your local electric cooperative to find out how to apply.
The next Washington Youth Tour will take place June 17-22, 2023.
